Kentucky Foundation Projects

The Kentucky Foundation strives to provide facts about Kentucky's energy and natural resources to the public while encouraging efficient and environmentally sustainable development. Below are some of the projects we are involved in.

Kentucky Coal and Energy Education

The Coal Education web site was established in 1996 through a grant from the Kentucky Coal Council which continued for seven years. The web site has been kept active with limited updates through volunteer efforts and contributions. Mining Internet Services, Inc. has been the principal contractor providing web site design and hosting.

The Coal Education web site reaches not only the entire Commonwealth, but provides Kentucky with a worldwide presence.

Kentucky Coal Facts

The Kentucky Coal Facts provides worldwide access to the most current source of statistical, historical, and pictorial information relevant to Kentucky coal. Year after year improvements are made to the information packed guide keeping the educators, students, and public coming back with renewed interest. Nowhere else on the web is there more information instantly available on Kentucky’s most valuable resource.

The new Kentucky Coal Facts publication is posted online. An Energy section will be developed to showcase energy commercialization projects throughout the state.
